Atlantic AgriTech has conducted many crop variety trials. We have experience in conducting trials to evaluate traditional as well as novel (GMO) varieties under confined conditions and have many years of experience managing early stage nursery trials through to variety registration trials.
Traditional Variety Trials
We have carried out trials to evaluate traditional hybrids/varieties in the following crops:
- Potatoes
- Cereals (oats, wheat, barley, rye)
- Soybeans
- Corn
- Canola and other oilseeds
- Specialty crops including borage and crambe
These trials can be for comparison of new varieties to existing standards, or to accurately determine susceptibility / resistance to various diseases or other pests.
Confined Trials
We also have experience conducting confined trials in a range of crops, including:
- Corn
- Soybean
- Cereals
- Potatoes
Varietal evaluation trials can be replicated or non-replicated trials and can be conducted at single or various sites, as required by the client. All trials can be maintained under optimum conditions to ensure all crucial data points are collected.
Atlantic AgriTech has also been involved in planting and managing demonstration plots (larger scale plots) in a range of crops, at our home farm and off-site. Demonstration plots are typically grown to highlight new crop varieties and to allow our clients to showcase the genetics they have on offer to growers. Atlantic AgriTech has also been involved in assisting clients in organizing field days to present their products to growers or other stakeholders.
