Atlantic AgriTech has been involved in a wide range of environment related projects, relating to topics such as energy efficiency and nutrient management as well as the evaluation and mitigation of environmental impacts from agricultural activities. AgriTech has been involved in the following Environmental Science related projects:
- Development of a weather-based spray advisory for farmers (with Environment Canada)
- Evaluation of weather models for predicting insect and disease outbreaks
- Evaluation and development of organic based products for pest control
- Development of an organic fertilizer in China (Guangdong province, southeast China)
- Evaluation of fertilizer technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- Development of fertilizers, soil amendments and other technologies to increase carbon sequestration in soils
- Nutrient management monitoring to reduce impacts on air and water
- Modelling of soil nutrient cycles to predict erosion and leaching risk
- Development of soil amendments and fertilizer systems for organic agriculture
- Involvement in the evaluation of the feasibility of a rural wind farm in PEI.
