Atlantic AgriTech Inc. has conducted a wide range of efficacy studies for clients in the agricultural, commercial, home garden, vegetation management and forestry sectors. These trials may consist of comparing different rates of products and/or comparing a new product to commercial standards.
Atlantic AgriTech conducts efficacy trials on the following types of products:
- Herbicides
- Insecticides and fungicides (in-furrow, seed, seed piece and foliar)
- Biological control agents
- Liquid and granular macro- and micronutrient fertilizers
- Surfactants and other adjuvants
- Inoculants
- Growth regulators and growth promoters

Through our research facilities and a network of co-operator / growers throughout Eastern Canada, we can conduct research in almost every crop/pest system in the region including:
Potatoes
- Weeds: wide range of annual and perennial grass and broadleaf weeds
- Insects: Wireworm, Colorado potato beetle, European corn borer, flea beetles and other insect pests
- Diseases: early and late blights, white mould, brown spot, black dot, Fusarium, silver scurf, Rhizoctonia, early dying complex and other diseases
Field Crops (cereals, soybeans, corn, pulse crops, canola and other oilseeds)
- Weeds: wide range of annual and perennial grass and broadleaf weeds
- Insects: wireworm, flea beetle, corn borer
- Diseases: White mould, Fusarium head blight, seedling rots, Septoria, rusts, mildews
Vegetables (brassicas, carrot, peas, etc)
- Weeds: wide range of annual and perennial grass and broadleaf weeds
- Insects: flea beetles, imported cabbageworm, cabbage looper, diamondback moth and other insect pests
- Diseases: blights, mildews, head rots and root rots
Fruit Crops (strawberry, lowbush blueberry, apples)
- Weeds: wide range of annual and perennial grass and broadleaf weeds
- Insects: blueberry maggot, flea beetles
- Diseases: various leaf diseases
Once data is collected it is promptly entered into our database and statistics are run to identify differences in treatments. In most cases, reports are generated using Agricultural Research Manager (ARM) trial management software and our clients receive electronic and/or hard copy reports, as required. Other methods of reporting are also available.
Efficacy-related Activities
Atlantic AgriTech has been involved in planting and managing on-farm demonstration plots (larger scale plots) and Research Authorizations (RA’s) in a range of crops, at our home farm and off-site.
